Peabody & Arnold has a national reputation in this expanding field of insurance, which now spans beyond "traditional" D&O insurance to other forms of Corporate and Professional Liability Coverage: EPLI, Pension Trust, Financial Institution Liability, Public Officials Liability, Investment Advisor E&O and Loss Mitigation products. For over 30 years, we have participated in major claims and addressed major coverage issues. We represent insurance companies in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

We provide coverage advice to carriers, monitor high-profile litigation, and represent carriers in settlement negotiations and at mediation. In addition, we represent carriers in complex coverage litigation. We assist carriers in dealing with difficult insureds on negotiated coverage issues such as selection of counsel, joint defense issues, and allocation of defense costs and settlements between covered and non-covered claims or defendants. We consult with defense counsel and review defense counsel's work product and bills to assure an effective and efficient defense of the insured.

We also have been active on the underwriting side of these coverages, especially in evaluating one-off, large loss policy/LMU opportunities for carriers. Further, we have assisted carriers when presenting their views to legislative bodies considering insurance-related legislation.

In order to provide our clients with current and complete legal advice, we remain abreast of industry developments through practice and active participation in a number of insurance organizations, including the Tort and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
