Peabody & Arnold has extensive experience in all types of bankruptcy proceedings. We appear regularly on behalf of creditors in all types of bankruptcy proceedings, from the filing of a petition to plan confirmation and case closing. We have appeared in some of the largest and most complex bankruptcy cases in the nation.

We represent businesses, institutions, and individuals primarily as creditors or as defendants in avoidance litigation. We also represent creditors' committees in Chapter 11 proceedings. We have served as special counsel to bankruptcy trustees and debtors where regular debtors' or trustee's counsel needs particular expertise. We also handle all manner of adversary proceedings, whether based on the Bankruptcy Code or other federal or state law, including appeals.

We have considerable experience representing secured and unsecured creditors when persons with whom they have an existing relationship, such as lender, seller, buyer, landlord, tenant, contracting party, surety, or other creditor face possible bankruptcy. In these situations, we have negotiated workouts, restructurings, postings of collateral, lease and contract terminations, and other modifications of existing relationships aimed at either averting bankruptcy or minimizing our client's risk in the event of the other party's bankruptcy.
