Peabody & Arnold Obtains Defense Verdict for Client in Legal Malpractice Trial
In a trial that lasted 11 days in Norfolk Superior Court, partner Jennifer Markowski and associate Barton Centauro prevailed on behalf of the firm’s law firm client. The plaintiff had alleged in his Complaint that the law firm had failed to adequately protect his interests when negotiating and drafting corporate documents on the client’s behalf. The client claimed to have suffered in excess of $1.5 million in damages related to post-corporate formation litigation with his business partner. Judge Miller presided over the jury trial. The jury ultimately determined that the law firm’s representation was not negligent and the firm was not liable for the costs of the subsequent litigation.
