Peabody & Arnold partners Timothy O. Egan and Susan M. Silva successfully obtained a Suffolk County Superior Court defense verdict after a jury trial that extended three weeks.  The case involved legal malpractice claims against a law firm and one of its former partners by a former divorce client who claimed the lawyer had negotiated and recommended an unfair settlement arrangement with her ex-husband.  The claimed damages totaled almost $2 million.  In finding for the defendants, the jury concluded that the attorneys met or exceeded the standard of care for a Massachusetts divorce attorney and awarded the plaintiff nothing.
